The first flowers that awaken with spring—delicate, yet carrying the hope of warmth and light. This work is about the sensuality and fragility of light and warmth that come after cold times. Like the first spring flowers breaking through the snow, bringing hope. Here, I depicted crocuses, edelweisses, bellflowers, and other flowers that grow in the mountains. The pot they are placed in is decorated in the style of Kosiv ceramics.
Kosiv ceramics is a traditional type of Ukrainian pottery that originates from Kosiv and the surrounding areas of Hutsulshchyna (a mountainous region in Ukraine).
